Advance your career in education with the Master of Arts Education at Beacon International College's city campus in Singapore's Central Business District, just one minute from Telok Ayer MRT. This 12-month program is awarded by the University of East London, UK, and is available full-time or part-time through blended learning. Part-time classes are conducted on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The program develops the academic and professional knowledge needed to succeed across local, national and global education settings. You will strengthen your abilities in critical analysis, reflection, enquiry, action planning, evaluation and collaborative learning, while learning to undertake rigorous academic or practitioner-based research that can support your professional development.

Students complete five modules. Applied Research in Education is compulsory. Depending on the module selection, options may include Creativity, Imagination and Learning; Assessment for Learning; Education Policy and Practice; Critical Approaches to Inclusive Education; Teaching and Learning in Multicultural Contexts; Culture and Diversity; Leading Learning; Pedagogy; and Mentoring and Coaching in Education: The Mentor as an Agent for Change.

Learning may include case studies, discussion, group work, presentations, research, reflective writing and project work. Assessment is continuous and practice-oriented, using coursework, reports, presentations, portfolios and applied projects. Students who complete all required modules totalling 180 credits receive the Master of Arts Education from the University of East London.

Applicants must be at least 20 years old and normally hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum Lower Second Class classification or equivalent in an education-related subject. Applicants whose first degree is not education-related should normally hold an Upper Second Class classification or equivalent. Mature applicants aged 30 or above may be considered with a non-graduate qualification and at least eight years of relevant working experience.

If English is not your first language, you should normally have IELTS 7.0 overall, including at least 6.5 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening, or an equivalent qualification.
