What you will study
Term 1: Artistic and digital foundations
Build essential skills through anatomy studies, digital painting with Photoshop, 3D fundamentals, perspective, digital illustration and figure sketching. Introductory Blender work helps students understand how simple 3D assets can support the creative process.
Term 2: Applied concept art
Advance into environment painting, digital sculpting, game UI, perspective and specialised projects. Students begin focusing on either Concept Art or Illustration while combining 2D and 3D tools to produce functional, production-aware artwork.
Term 3: Advanced portfolio projects
Apply advanced digital-painting techniques to specialised briefs. Core World Design brings students together around a shared visual-development challenge, while Concept Art students deepen concept design and Illustration students develop character illustration.
Creative skills and professional workflows
The course develops observation, composition, lighting, anatomy, perspective, environment design, character design and visual storytelling. Students learn how to move from rough ideas through research, iteration and final presentation using Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender and related tools.

University progression
Eligible graduates may be considered for direct entry into Year 2 of related University of Hertfordshire bachelor’s programs, including 2D Digital Animation, Comics and Concept Art, Graphic Design, Graphic Design (Advertising & Branding), and Illustration. Selected students who complete the additional six-month Specialist Diploma may qualify for Year 3 entry.
Progression is subject to academic results, portfolio review, English-language requirements, course compatibility and university approval.
Entry requirements
- Applicants must be above 16.
- Completion of GCE O Levels or an equivalent high-school qualification with at least three passes, including English.
- A creative portfolio must be submitted.
- Applicants must pass the admissions interview.
Prior drawing or design experience is helpful but not required. Admission focuses on creative potential and commitment. Asia Pathway can review sketches, illustrations, photography, design work or other creative pieces before submission.
Tuition and application costs
- Indicative tuition: approximately USD 11,520 per term across three terms.
- Official international course fee: SGD 44,258.20.
- Application fee: SGD 327, charged separately.
