What you will study

The program consists of eight 15-credit taught papers and a 60-credit applied project.

Level 8 papers

• Organisational Behaviour, Leadership and Change - Examine how people, leadership and organisational systems interact during periods of change.
• Business Professionalism - Strengthen professional judgement, communication and responsible management practice.
• Business Transformation - Explore how organisations respond to disruption, innovation and evolving market conditions.
• Māori Business Leadership Models - Develop an understanding of Māori approaches to enterprise, leadership and organisational value.
• Research Methods - Build the research design, analysis and evaluation skills required for advanced applied study.

Level 9 papers

• Global Business Management - Analyse management decisions and organisational strategy within international business environments.
• Contemporary Leadership and Management - Evaluate advanced leadership theories and their application to emerging organisational challenges.
• Project Management - Develop the knowledge required to plan, coordinate and evaluate complex projects.
• Applied Project - Complete a substantial 60-credit project that applies research and management knowledge to a relevant business situation.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally meet one of the following academic or professional pathways:

• A bachelor’s degree or Graduate Diploma in a business-related subject from a recognised institution, supported by full academic transcripts.
• Evidence of relevant skills and knowledge gained through appropriate professional or work experience in business studies or a related area.
• An undergraduate degree in another discipline combined with relevant professional experience and demonstrated management-related knowledge.

A personal statement explaining your reasons for studying the program is strongly recommended. ICL assesses applications individually and may request additional supporting information.

English-language requirements

International applicants normally require Academic IELTS 6.5 overall, with no individual band below 6.0, achieved in one examination and within the accepted validity period. An equivalent English-language result recognised by NZQA may also be accepted.
