Who this advanced diploma is designed for

This is a progression-level program, not a beginner introduction to art. It is designed for students with a relevant diploma or a strong portfolio showing an established foundation in drawing, design, form, structure, perspective and visual development.

Five production-focused modules

Hard Surface Modelling

Develop clean, efficient models for interactive media and games, including topology, UV mapping and workflows for both hard-surface and organic assets.

Asset Development Studio

Follow the complete game-asset pipeline from concept and modelling to optimisation and preparation for interactive environments, with emphasis on efficiency and visual consistency.

Character Sculpting

Study anatomy, proportion, silhouette and expressive detail while taking a character from initial concept to refined digital sculpture.

Environment Creation

Design, model and texture immersive environments that support narrative, mood and gameplay while meeting performance requirements across platforms.

Production Art - Organic

Work within a live studio-style environment on entertainment-design projects that combine advanced workflows, production variables and genres such as science fiction, fantasy and hybrid worlds.

Portfolio and degree progression

Students complete portfolio work across the five modules, demonstrating design process, sculpting, modelling, texturing, environment assembly and real-time presentation. Eligible graduates may apply for Stage 3 direct entry to the BA Computer Arts program awarded by Abertay University and delivered at MAGES. Progression remains subject to academic and portfolio assessment.

Entry requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years old at the start of class for the registered advanced-diploma pathway.
• A relevant MAGES diploma or another accepted diploma in concept art, animation, game art, multimedia, fine arts, illustration or a closely related discipline.
• Applicants from another institution must submit a portfolio demonstrating a suitable foundation in drawing, design, form, structure, perspective and visual development.
• Admission is subject to review of qualifications, portfolio and approval by the Program Director or relevant academic authority.

English-language requirements

• IELTS 5.5 for international applicants, or
• An accepted equivalent qualification where English was the medium of instruction.
• Additional assessment or interview may be required when the published English route is not met.

Tuition and compulsory fees

• International-student course fees payable: SGD 19,497.92.
• International-student administration fee: SGD 2,616.00.
• Total payable for international students: SGD 22,113.92, inclusive of 9% GST.
• International application fee: SGD 817.50, inclusive of 9% GST and charged separately; this fee is non-refundable and is not included in the total above.
• Indicative Asia Pathway planning figure: approximately USD 5,780 per study term.
• Grants and scholarships may be available. Eligibility and current terms must be confirmed before application.

The USD amount is an approximate planning conversion derived from the total course cost and will change with exchange rates. The official MAGES Student Contract and invoice provide the binding instalment schedule. Eligible course fees are protected through the applicable Fee Protection Scheme.

Technology requirements

Students need a Windows laptop and drawing tablet suitable for advanced modelling, sculpting, texturing and Unreal Engine production. Confirm current hardware specifications with Asia Pathway before purchasing equipment.
