This is a Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia-approved program that provides a qualification for the purpose of Enrolled Nurse registration. Build the practical skills healthcare employers expect

Your studies develop the clinical, communication and professional skills used by Enrolled Nurses working under the supervision of Registered Nurses or other healthcare professionals. You will learn to assess health information, contribute to care planning, implement and evaluate nursing care, administer and monitor medicines and intravenous therapy, manage wounds, prevent infection and work safely with diverse patients and healthcare teams.

The curriculum also prepares you to support people experiencing acute and chronic health conditions, mental health conditions, diabetes and the health needs associated with ageing. You will explore primary healthcare, culturally safe practice, legal and ethical responsibilities, evidence-based practice, first aid, workplace wellbeing and end-of-life and palliative care.

Move from simulation to real clinical practice

Clinical placement is a major strength of this course. Stanley College’s Employment Liaison Team organises placements with participating employers in consultation with students. The 560 placement hours give you the opportunity to practise your skills in real workplace settings, understand professional routines and build the confidence to contribute safely to patient care.

Clinical work placement is completed full-time at a minimum of 40 hours per week. Placement schedules and host locations can differ from the regular classroom timetable, so students should be ready for the professional attendance, travel and shift requirements set by the host organisation.

Academic and personal entry requirements

Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years old when the course begins.

Academic entry: Complete Australian Year 12 or an equivalent secondary-school qualification, or hold a Certificate IV-level qualification or higher, or an equivalent qualification.

Language, literacy and numeracy: Successfully complete Stanley College’s LLN assessment and demonstrate competence at exit level 3.

Interview: Complete a pre-enrolment interview.

Computer skills: Basic computer literacy is required, including file management, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, online research and digital communication.

English-language requirements for Nursing

Nursing has a higher English standard than many general college programs. Applicants must meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia English-language registration standard through an eligible pathway. This may be the Primary Language Pathway, supported by the required declaration, or the English Language Test Pathway.

Current minimum test scores

Results must be obtained within the two years before completing the application.

IELTS Academic: Overall 7.0, with at least 7.0 in listening, reading and speaking, and at least 6.5 in writing.

PTE Academic: Overall 63, with at least 58 in listening, 59 in reading, 60 in writing and 76 in speaking.

OET: At least 350 in listening, 360 in reading, 350 in writing and 360 in speaking.

TOEFL iBT: Total 91, with at least 22 in listening, 22 in reading, 23 in writing and 24 in speaking.

Cambridge C1 Advanced: Overall 178, with at least 175 in listening, 179 in reading, 180 in writing and 194 in speaking.

Cambridge C2 Proficiency: Overall 185, with at least 185 in listening, reading and speaking, and at least 176 in writing.

Eligible results may come from one test sitting or a maximum of two sittings within a 12-month period from the same test provider, provided every component and minimum floor rule is satisfied. Different test providers cannot be combined. Your pathway after graduation

Graduates can apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia for registration as an Enrolled Nurse. Registration is assessed separately by the NMBA and requires applicants to meet the applicable English, identity, criminal-history and other professional registration standards. Stanley College registers enrolled students with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for the duration of their studies as required under the National Law.

After registration, Enrolled Nurses may pursue opportunities in hospitals, aged-care facilities, disability services, community health and acute-care settings. Graduates may also apply for credit toward a Bachelor of Nursing at a higher education provider or university; any credit granted is decided by the receiving institution.

Estimated total tuition and materials: approximately USD 27,235 for the full 104-week course.

Application fee: approximately USD 165 and non-refundable.

Stanley College officially charges AUD 18,000 per year, AUD 36,000 total tuition, AUD 2,000 materials and an AUD 230 application fee. The USD estimates use an exchange rate of AUD 1 = USD 0.7167 on 31 August 2026 and will change with currency movements. Easy payment plans are available through Stanley College.
